I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching this WEiRD sermon series at Grace Hills. And the feedback has been pretty great. People are joining groups, making it a point to show up for the next message, and bringing friends. Keep it up!!
This weekend, I want to teach a messaged called WEiRD Church. No, it’s not just about Grace Hills, in spite of the fact that we meet at the movies and wear mostly blue jeans. It’s about something much bigger. If you were to come up with a solution for the world’s biggest problems – the global giants of our day – the church would probably be the last thing you’d think of. But it was first in God’s mind, and the church, in all of its weirdness, has been facing those global giants for two thousand years.
I’ll be talking about Grace Hills’ core values, among other things. If you know someone who is currently far from God, or far from the church, BRING THEM THIS SUNDAY! You don’t have to be “churchy.” You don’t even have to like the church, for that matter. We’re going to acknowledge our shortcomings and leave with a big, bold vision of what God wants to do in northwest Arkansas and beyond through an ordinary group of people called Grace Hills Church.
I also want to mention another big, bold thing that needs to be on your calendar - Blocktober! On October 28, from 1 to 4 pm, Grace Hills is going to host a public, free event for families that will include bounce houses, carnival games, pumpkin decorating, face painting, a costume contest, and good eats too. It will be at Frisco Station Mall’s front parking lot on Walnut and Dixieland in Rogers. More information is on the way about how you can help and contribute as well as how to best spread the word.
I can’t wait to see you and your friends on Sunday at the theater!
