“It is such a humbling experience to lead others into the Lord’s presence in worship, so my true desire is to do that in a way that clearly points others to Him. When that thought is applied to life, worship should be the theme of our lives – HUMBLY pointing others to him.” – Lauren
Meet the amazing and gifted Grace Hills Worship leader, Lauren. She is an anointed vocalist who leads with a passion to draw people closer to Jesus. Not only does Lauren have an incredible voice, but she has found a new love for the acoustic guitar. She desires to use every one of her gifts for God’s glory to magnify His name.
We are incredibly blessed by Lauren’s leadership and her desire to draw people to the throne. And a bonus is that she happens to be married to our Worship Pastor, Neil. Together, they make an incredible team!
Read a little bit of Lauren’s background of where her love of worship comes from, how worship takes her straight to the throne and one of her favorite scriptures.
I grew up in a home of worship leaders. My mom and dad are very talented musicians who have a passion for Jesus and leading in praise, so I grew up with a love of worship because I watched it displayed in my home. I started leading worship in junior high with my father for youth group and in high school I was one of the worship leaders at my christian school. Naturally, when Neil and I started dating we began leading worship for church and worship events and we now serve together at Grace Hills as leaders. I count it a gift and true blessing that God has given me a spouse who loves to worship because has given us so many opportunities to serve others together. I pray every night with our girls that they will grow up to be lovers of worship because it has meant so much to me.
My absolute favorite time to spend time with God is in worship. Whether it be on a Sunday from the stage or at home home or car with worship music on, it is there that I feel the closest to God. The Holy Spirit has always moved in such a strong way in my life with music, that I am instantly taken to the throne when in worship. Now, that I am learning guitar, it gives me yet another way to spend time with Him.
I love all of God’s word, but one of my absolute favorite scriptures is 1 John 3:18-19, “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.”
