Christine Caine wrote this today in her daily email devotional:
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life (Romans 6:4).
The blood of Jesus doesn’t give us amnesia. Our pasts still happened.
Personally, I was abused, I was abandoned, I was broken; none of that has changed, except everything changes when I encounter Christ. He gives me the power to live a life beyond the past because of His redemptive work on the cross.
I think a lot of us get stuck in what we’ve done, rather than focusing on what Jesus did.
He wants you to hear, “I came, I died on a cross and I rose again from the dead so that you can have a life beyond your past.” Live today set free from your past!
We baptize people regularly at Grace Hills, and it’s a vital next step for anyone who has become a follower of Jesus. The Bible speaks of baptism as a symbol of the burial of our past life as sinners and our resurrection to a new life as God’s children.
If you or a family member need to take this important next step, read more on our baptism page or email us at joinus@gracehillschurch.com.
