Weekend Review!
In our preschool room this week we started out with some parachute play time. This is always a favorite for the kids and it tied in perfectly this week as we were talking about the rainbow and God’s promise! Here is our new memory verse:
“The Lord always keeps His promises.” Psalm 145:13
The Lord – point up to the sky
always keeps – brings arms out and around and down making a circle
His promises – make a book with your hands
We would love for you to practice this verse with your kids this week! We will be practicing it again next Sunday in class. We also want to focus on thanking God for his promises the week! We all made bracelets this week that have beads the colors of the rainbow to remind us of God’s promise to us and what this means. Use this is a reminder and a conversation starter this week with your kids!
In our Kids Zone this week we talked about healing. This is a big topic to tackle! We focused on these points:
- Jesus heals today (our Hearts and our Bodies)
- We are healed through faith and prayer
- Jesus wants us to live in health
We serve a big God and we are so thankful for this. Our kids are learning and growing weekly and I am thankful for kids who engage in our lessons and ask questions. Almost everyone in kid zone could recite there memory verse before they left. Encourage your children to continue to practice our verse and put God’s word on their hearts. We will study this same verse again next week!
“Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His great mercy he has given us a new birth and a hope that is alive. It is alive because Jesus Christ rose from the dead.” I Peter 1:3
This week was our first week to pick a “superstar” of the week. What a great first example we had, Miss Taylor was our first “superstar” she always participates in our lesson and answers questions. Thank you for being such a great example to others Taylor!
If you have not already heard we are still raising money to buy a GOAT to send to a family in need and share the love of Christ with them! Yes, we did let the kids vote on which animal they would like to raise money to buy. We have been so excited to learn about stewardship through this experience while meeting a practical need. Your children have risen to the occassion, raising, at last count, $51.76 of the $70.00 goal! This gift will be given through Gospel for Asia. This gift is a huge blessings to a family they will be able to have fresh milk, and be able to make cheese regularly; which is a huge for families looking to simply provide for their children! We only have 2 weeks left to raise money!
