Foster Parents Night Out FAQ’S
Who is this event for?
We’ll be supporting local foster families through The C.A.L.L., a non-profit organization that mobilizes local churches to serve local children and youth placed in foster care. Our heart for this event is to provide foster parents with safe, intentional, and free childcare while giving them a break to run errands, have a date night, or just take some time for themselves amid their busy schedules. We also want to show up for these kids with a fun environment where they feel seen and cared for by our church!
How will I be serving?
We’ll be bringing in 60 kids from foster families to the church and need volunteers who can lead group activities, play games, and show the love of Jesus to each child. During the evening, each group will be rotating through pre-planned activity stations – think of this event as similar to a Grace Hills VBS!
Are my kids able to attend/serve with me?
We’d love for your whole family to get involved with this event! Kids in Upper Elementary and above are encouraged to join our volunteer team. Please plan on registering any younger children as a “Child of Volunteer.”
How long will I be serving for?
Please plan to arrive at the church at 5:30pm for a rundown of volunteer details and to be prepared to greet families. Activities will run from 6:00 – 8:00pm, with fifteen minutes for drop-off and pick-up at the beginning and ending of that time.
Will dinner and activities be provided?
Yes! We will have pizza and chips for volunteers and kids once you arrive. All activities will have been prepared and ready to go. All you need to do is show up and have fun!
Do I need any specific training to serve foster families?
No training is required, but all volunteers must have an up-to-date background check. If you do not already have a background check completed, a request will be sent within a few days of registration. Please also be cautious not to photograph/record any children present at the event.
What is the age range of kids participating?
We’ll be welcoming kids and youth from 8 weeks through 16 years old.
